MUCH better! But yea, I think you need to start ditching the chrome if you want to run black wheels. Just my .02 :)

Agreed. My current plans are to next black out billet grille/toss it, billstein 5100 lift, TSB AAL, and Bushwacker flares kept black.

I like, you need to do the BHLM and black out your grill.

Nope. Well, actually they initially did. Right after I put on the tires and jacked it down, first thing I did was check the clearance lock to lock. The only place it was contacting was a little piece of the backside of the front bumper where it comes up into the wheel wheel, the little "point" piece. I basically cut this at a 45 degree angle, and cut a little nice triangle out of that piece with a dremel, which allowed for full travel of the wheel. No other rubbing issues since I did that. I made pretty careful and precise cuts and you can't even tell anything has been messed with.

That is pretty sweet. Did you just custom fab up a new plate, or modify the old one so the XD was gone?

1/4 plexi and then used the fake bolts of the original caps painted flat black. pretty easy and worked great, krookz made his out of a street sign, i will do the sometime, but for now the plexi is working great. i was thinking about getting new rims, but this change made me fall in love with them again

Well I think a lot of guys running 285's are running 285/75/16 or the like, meaning a near 33 inch tire. My 285's are a 285/60/18, which is about 31.6 inches, so they are the same width as those guys 33's, but not nearly as tall. The only rubbing issue I had was on a little piece of plastic where the bumper comes into the wheel wheel, and a quick tiny cut with the dremel fixed that. I now have no rubbing.

Looks great!! Yeah my buddy has those size tires with a 3" lift and he was able to leave his mud flaps on and did some minor trimming up front. I have 285/65-18"s and I had to remove my mudflaps and had to do a little more trimming then he did. My tires equal out to about 32.6"s so that 1" makes a big difference from the 285/60-18"s.;)

OK guys, got some better pics today after I half-assed washed it and went back down to stock grill for now til I can paint other one black. You can see in a few pics I showed the areas I cut to get them to not rub, I marked the piece that is now cut off with a red line.
