Short bed looks better to me because I actually loved the old school 1/4 ton compact pickups. I like them small. However a short bed is fuggin next to useless. I have carried 18 foot long 2X4s in my long bed. Hell I built a 12x12 building with a 3 pitch roof and carried everything in my long bed. Try that with a short bed. Aint gonna happpen.

Love my lb. I picked up some nice Ikea shelves that fit perfectly in my 6' bed. I could not be happier. I just wish my gas mileage was a tad bit better but I'm hoping gas prices come down in Hawaii so it won't be so bad.

thats nice and all. but if i was doing the same exact thing, i’d use our 12’x7’ trailer and get everything in one trip. also IMHO it’s not very same hauling something thats 18’ long in a 6’bed it sticks out way to far! maybe if it was 10’ long but not 18’. but thats just IMHO.

edit: i hope you tied it on the roof or something, and if you did a SB could still get it.

Exactly what I said before , DCSB is fine if you have a trailer or another truck with a real bed for doing actual truck stuff

18' is about the length of the truck. With 11' of 2x4 hanging out past the tailgate, it must have looked pretty comical.

I'm glad you short bed guys love em. To me, they look stubby. They just don't have the right proportions. The Tundra looks funny as well. A Crew Max is 20' long but has a tiny 5'6" box.

I like the short box look much better especially lifted but after loading my sled (aka snowmachine for those who didnt know) I wish I had a long box for those trips. Toyota needs to make an extendable bed haha. that would be bad ass, able to shorten to the short box when the extra room isnt needed.

ya. i load a lot in my bed. i have had it full up past the bed sides with bags of top soil and other bags of dirt.(some potting soil ext) but for even if i had the LB i would have used a trailer for what Crosis was doing. I also tow atv’s and the rhino in my avi a lot and even the atv we have hardly fits in dad tundra with 6’ bed(like 2” to spare, from busting the back glass out) rhino can’t fit in a 6bed or trailer if it wanted to, smallest would be like 8' or 10'

I saw a guy this winter in a Super Duty take off from a dead stop and all of his material slid out. He must have had 30-40 pieces of 16' 2x6's or 2x8's.

That's how I got a free ramp yesterday. Lazy sledeck didn't tie it down and it flew right out of his box at an intersection. Right in front of my eyes, and it was loud. He didn't notice and didn't come back so it's mine now... Could've killed someone on the highway so I don't feel that bad for the guy.

I used to be a 4runner owner and move to a Taco cause I was tired of my dogs stinking up the cabin space. I short box is all I required for them. Far as I am concerned the Short box taco is a great offroad capable suv with a box.....perfect!

I have a F250 Super Duty at my disposal for anything requiring a larger truck.

with my toolbox in i couldn't even haul my parents 48 inch dresser for them without the tailgate down :(. still, can't fit a Long Bed in my garage. with my workbench in from of my truck i barely have 6 inches of clearance from my rear bumber to the garage door.

Bed liner shovel mount, head rest vertical rifle mount, console .380 holster. Tailgate hose clamps & washers. Green LED dome light, Disabled seat belt chime.
I wish my bed was a bit longer, seems ridiculous that I have to put the tailgate down to haul my fourwheeler on the "long bed" model, shit, 6.5' would be sufficient. Come on Toyota, help a girl out! :)

I chose the long bed to haul my dirt bike. My cousin that I go riding with has an '04 with the 5' bed and with two bikes and all our gear, it got cramped really quickly. I think the long beds look more proportional also, short bed looks a little stubby to me.
