OK.. I know i know....this topic is beat to death but I am tapped out of every possible option to get rid of this damn vibration in my Tacoma. Maybe someone else can have some more input that I have not heard had.

The shudder/ vibration is at take off at very low speeds and is worse when you take off slow. In fact on a quick take off is pretty much not there.

    I have a:

2010 Double Cab long box TRD Sport.
Tuff Country 3” suspension lift (leaf kit)
    275/70R 17 BFG AT TA KO’s

    I have tried:
    Shims in every possible position
Carrier Bearing Drop in way to may sizes to list.
Had the truck at a driveline shop where they checked my angles and everything was perfect. They tried axle shims for me but still there. They are a very experienced shop and could not figure out what was causing the vibration.

The only thing that pretty much completely eliminates the vibration is if I have 200-300lbs in the back.

Looking for a couple of last chance options to try and they I am gonna forget about it and live with it!

It is what it is. Even with right angles the drivetrains have shudder. My stock '09 has the shudder. Toyota Corprate told me the rear trans mount TSB never actually fixed the problem completly. Some do it, some don't.

according to my dealer, take of shudder is completely normal for these new trucks, even without a lift. one of my service guys has a 2011 Tacoma and his does it.

Yeah, both mine and my buddy's have the take off shudder stock. I added an OME CB drop over the weekend, and the take of shudder is gone now...

The drop works for some, didn't work for mine. You can try a 1-piece drive shaft. This eliminates the complience of the carrier bearing and crossmember. It should shift the resonance of the driveline. Tom Woods is a good guy to talk to. If you buy a shaft and it doesn't fix it he will take it back.....

Is it a vibration or a shudder? If a shudder, you may just have to get a traction bar.

    In the same Boat man!

I just bought a used 2007 AC Off Road with 105K miles and a 3" lift. It has the growling/vibration issues. The lift has been on for 105K miles too. I don't think it gets worse. I mean it happens to everyone immediatley after their lifts right, So it's not like the bearing issue happens over time.

With that being said, I mean if I removed the lift it should go away. Has anyone with this issue removed their liftand had the problem go away.

My concern is that maybe it's been on there so long that the bearing is ruined by now, lift or no lift.

Yah it is more of a shudder. No sound from it but more of a shudder actually. I have not tried a traction bar yet. Maybe that could do it. Any suggestion as to where to get one. I am in Canada so would possibly have to order it.
