Should I buy the extended warranty?

    I didn't say what you're suggesting, in fact I said the opposite. I said "NEVER buy an extended warranty (or insurance) that you CAN afford to pay out of pocket for the repair/fix out of pocket" Said another way, only buy if you CAN'T afford the cost of repair out of pocket.

    In our case of car repairs and car loan payments, if you're really that stretched that you can not afford to repair your car, the arguement could be made that you're being fiscally irrisponsible...but that is a different issue.

    I have owned eight Toyota vehicles in my life. I have never needed and extended "warranty" on any of them. Waste of money IMO as stated over and over above.

    Set aside 20 dollars a month in a savings account for repairs. If you never need it you still have the cash.
