yellow foglights

Where can i get the yellow foglights? id like to get the yellow bulbs and lense

 

not sure about the lens...but there's plenty of places to get the fog bulbs...

Do you have fogs already and just want them to be yellow?

 

sorry, no personal experience...maybe someone else will chime in. i'm still running stock.

 

I also was wondering about what bulbs to put into just the stock fog lights ?

with those bulbs, esp the Nokya, you don't really need the yellow lamin-x. the lamin-x will make it 1. look yellow with the light off and in the day time, 2. protect the lens and 3. enhance the yellow bulb...

however, i'm not really into the "yellow when off" look so i'll probably run the Optilux bulbs and the lamin-x 40 mil clear covers to offer max protection. i simply want amber/yellowish fogs for the function, not necessarily the look.

 

Get 3000k HID headlights from DDMtuning.com, just got mine for $40 shipped, bright as crap, plug and play. Super happy with this purchase.

I installed the yellow Nokya bulbs. Less than 20 bucks on Amazon. They work great. I had the damn'd time trying to get them to seat properly till I figured out the rubber gasket/ring on the bulb was way bigger than the stock bulb. I swapped them out and it fit perfect. My suggestion is to try the bulbs first. You might be able to save some coin and it would be easy to go back to white bulbs if you don't like it.

 

To get the yellow tint, go to a Michaels and get the Krylon satin finish in orange. Give the fogs about 4 coats and you will get the yellow fogs for about 6 bucks.

This may be a dumb question but, why do you get the yellow fog lights? For looks? Functionality? Both?

 

amber light is supposedly easier on the eyes and technically is ideal for poor weather.

one of the reasons why euro cars for so long had amber forward lighting and/or fogs - in fact some had yellow head lights, not just fogs.

but yeah, i'm sure many people use it for a certain look too.

 

Thanks, yes that is what I did. My friend has the lamin x and mine give out a better brighter light. We have thick fog here and I can totally tell the difference.

 

I have just spent the past hour in the garage kicking and screaming while trying to install a set of Nokyas. After finally giving up, I come in and search here to see if I am just missing something. I read this, I swap gaskets, and it went right in. Amazing that little piece of rubber made all the difference. So thankyou for posting that. Now unfortanutly I'll probably have to go through it all again in the not-so-distant future because I'm sure I got the bulb nice and dirty. Even though I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol I'm sure it's still not going to last...

spin them in a paper towel soaked with isopropyl again, and do it now, because that would suck if they blew due to that. you don't want any of those oils or grime baking on and causing a hot spot. it happens fast.

 

It's to late, I noticed a dark spot that wasn't coming off with cleaning. I made the mistake of turning them on just to make sure they were working (would have been pissed if I went to all that trouble and one was defective from the getgo) and it would appear I hosed myself...Failure!
