Looking to up my truck in years and go for a 2009-2010. I am in Canada and looking to buy in the U.S. because its cheaper for us right now. In Canada by far long bed Quad cabs rule but when I look in the States 80% or more are short bed. Is it because long beds are more in demand used or short beds outsell longbeds when bought new.

Agreed. IMO, the DC long beds look "out of proportion" w/rest of the truck. However, I saw a 2nd gen w/camper shell and looked bad ass. Granted it was lifted and running 285/75/16s - more proportionate to the long bed DC. But whatever floats your boat. :)

Really? I thought that 5 foot box on a DC looks not only goofy but strikes me as being a bit poser like you don't really need a truck. :D

I thought only soccer moms drove DC short beds. (ducking and running for cover) J/K.... I need more bed than cab.

Ok ok. Honestly, I thought the double cab long beds were kind of odd looking. That's until I saw one with a lift. They are just plain badass looking.

I didn't get a long bed based on that, but because I actually use my bed. I couldn't be happier with my decision. Now I think they look better than short beds. Again, not saying that because I one.

I just can't use a short bed. Can't fit shit back there, but I still like them. No offense to the sb owners.

^ yep. Long beds NEED lifts to look proportionate. Although short beds with lifts look kinda funny to me because it makes the small bed look smaller.

Part of the reason we got a SB is to allow a better fit in the garage.
We measured and decided a LB wouldn't fit.

I bought the truck for off roading, and hauling my bike around. It's also my daily driver, so the 4 doors are convenient. The SB off-roads better, and handles my bike just fine, so it's what I went with.

DC Short beds looks like a tadpole. Big ole font end and cab, then a tiny little bed. Long beds look more proportional.

When I bought mine, I had a short bed and a long bed, same color, lined up side by side and the SB looks goofy as hell so I paid the little extra for the LB.

Well I think both look great....However, I think the reason there are not that many DCLB is because most people that need the longer bed just get an Access Cab, and people that need more "people" space get the DC short bed and sacrifice a little bit of the bed. I've hauled quite a few things in my DC short bed, even with a Kobalt toolbox back there, and it has always got the job done.

I like the look of the long bed, but the streched wheelbase makes it harder to manuver in daily driving. Since the SB with haul 95% of what I need to haul I went with the short bed.
