a billion dollars...not really but more trouble than it's worth. just sell your prerunner and buy a 4x4.

sure it can be done but it's never going to be 100% like a tacoma that is 4x4 from the factory.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
You probably looking at 2-4K price tag depending on how many used parts you find and how much labor you do.
EDIT: If you doing that go for solid axle on the front. TG has housing for taco for 650 they even have one that fits e-locker third. manuall Transfer case to engage front and you are done. :)

about around $27K the cost for a new truck! should have gone 4wd from the beginning otherwise you looking at at least $2-3K in parts alone

    Agreed ^^^

Wheel into a dealership and see what you can do as a trade in for a newer 4x4 .

Or private sale and buy a used 4x4 .

you have an 07. Too many what if's. Computer brain and all. If it was an earlier model then it would be a parts swap and done. That being said...find a similar model in a salvage yard, buy it, if you can do the work great, if not plan to open wallet...again and again. I had a 1973 Datsun 260Z Automatic. I wanted a 5 Speed. I found a donor car, tranny/rearend...done. Newer cars are not so plug and play. It can be done but sometimes the little things are a pain in the ass. The main thing I found out was have a whole donor truck and some money to spend. Good luck...By the way I looked long and hard to find a V6 5 Speed with 4x4 and manual locking hubs...(1999 and earlier) I wish I could have found one with the locking rear differential. Good Luck to you. Kevin

At least it's a 2007, so you don't have to deal with the complexities of auto LSD...
