I guess I know why you are getting bashed but fuck it. You have some big ol', manly, hairy balls. Its not something I would have done without the rear diff breather mod but that's just me.

Thumbs up for having fun with your truck and trying to get it taken care of properly after the fact.

It'd be pretty lame if you were/are getting bashed by some of the guys that were convincing you to do it.

Oh yeah, you've already done more in the short time owning your prerunner than most people do with their 4x4. Granted it may not have been the smartest thing to do...

Hey guys, well I started the cleanup. As you can see from the first pic, my first evidence of dried mud under the cab :(. I started by scraping what I could all around with a plastic paint scrapper and then vacuuming with a dry vac. Then went at it with some multipurpose cleaner and terry towels. The scrapping left some slight scratches on the paint of the metal because of the sandy dry mud, but I avoided as much as i could.

Where the jack is/under storage is where most of the exposed metal is. Saw that sheet metal dimples with dried thicker mud had very little rust bubbles starting in the paint. Glad it wasnt much and that its dried now.

Have my carpet stretched out and drying in my backyard.

So I've confirmed that its most likely not the airbag ECU, as you can see the water did not rise high enough to pass the center rise height. So it looks like its either the Airbag connectors or the sensors that are causing problems?

There are three types of sensors found, 5 total that were submerged (2 are symmetrical for driver and pass). They are shown in the pics, except I missed a picture of one black box under the drivers seat (under the brass color sheet metal cover).

Still gotta finish the cleanup especially in the door sills, but as you can see got the most out already...

Didn't get it for offroading, that was jus a plus for fun. Obviously if a lot of though was into it it prolly wouldnt have happened. I went through one that was just like it next to it...

One of the guys with a 4x4 said worst case ill get stuck and they pull me out....guess he was "partly" right. And no, didnt see anyone else try, few with 4x4 passed it, noone did.

Guess I was the only one with "balls"...or the only idiot....ill stick with balls ;)

No matter how much you clean that carpet and padding when its hot and humidit you are going to smell that muddy musty water smell in the cab.

Balls and brains and enough blood to only run one at a time... I wouldn't have gone thru with my 4x4 but I don't know if I should shake your hand or slap you upside the head and ask wtf were you thinking?!?!

Either way, thanks for posting the story so we can all live vicariously through you

Check the Airbag sensors in front of the truck. They might of gotten submerged in the mud.

You mean the impact sensors behind the grill? Theres just too many sensors, I wouldnt know which one/ones are bad.

Any way to test them? Will an OBDII code sensor read a code for the airbag light?
