Front rang rampart. Its not too hard but in snow it will be a challenge! We keep pushing it off. May be they are scared haha.

I had a 2001 Grand Cherokee with a 4" Teraflex lift and it was a very comfortable off road ride. I like the Tacoma better because it has a bed.

Bleh, those years suck. Depends on what drive train they have. If they're sporting the Quadra Trac or Quadra Drive you will be pretty hard pressed to keep with them. Again, keeping in mind what tires they have and wheeling experience.

Wife has a 2001 WJ (Grand Cherokee) with the 4.7 V8 and the Quadra Trac II. You'd be surprised how capable that thing is. It's Full Time 4WD system beats the shit out of my Taco easy.

The Grand Cherokees are some of the best jeeps out there in terms of build quality. They've always ranked high. (Can't say the same for the rest of the brand but...)

    Oh and SFA FTMFW.

I'm no expert in Quadra trac 2, but does that system just transfer torque to front wheels when needed ? I guess that 4HI lock is still superior than that, since front and rear are locked, if I read right on that page:

    http://www.jeep.com/en/4x4/how_systems_work/quadra_trac_2/

Is there a hidden feature in quadra trac that could act something similar to A-TRAC?

Yes, but it pretty much puts the power where it needs it. It's rear wheel bias, which when wheeling you generally want power if you're climbing shit cause that's where the weight is. The part furthest down hill. If it starts slipping, the front catches via a viscous coupling and makes the front start turning too. Not to mention they also have the ability to lock into 4lo just like you and cruise up that bastard. If they have Quadra Drive, it's like A-Trac but mechanical. Put the power front and back, and side to side. Remember...Jeep has been using this on the Cherokee for pretty much 10+ years now.
