Sway Bar Disconnects... Anyone sell em?

Is anyone making these? I'm lookin to buy some but can't find anyone that sells em.

 

Don't think that anyone has come out with an effective one for the 2md gen. The ends of the sway bar hit stuff in the suspension when the end links are removed/disco'd. A mid-bar auto disconnect like some Jeeps have is the next best bet- but I don't think anyone has made one.

So it's either all on or all off...I prefer off.

I think someone would make some good money if they could make quick disco sway bars for a 2nd gen..

 

I was really interested in this until I researched back and found what the price was (when they were available). After waiting and considering the price, I decided that I'd take the whole thing on and off as needed... but now I just leave it off. I was expecting that onroad it would be like pulling the Queen Mary into the bay, but I really haven't seen much difference. I've mashed the thin metal brush guard, too, so the next time that piece comes off, it's pretty much staying off.

 

So the sway bar off doesn't make it floppy in turns?

 

I haven't really pushed it, but I never did beforehand either. From normal driving there might be a slight bit more roll. I've felt worse out of a '97 Cadillac.

My advice is give it a try. It's quite easy to do with an average set of tools, and can be fully reversed.

 

I had 5100s on my '08 tacoma so the sway bars nothin hard to take off. Maybe ill give it a go n see what I think

 

Yeah. Don't just disconnect the end and leave it there though.

Someone on the board did that and ripped a CV boot.
