Power Outlet

Hello,
2nd post here. I have 2007 Xtra Cab 4cyl (about 3 weeks now) and I would like to add the power outlet to the bed. I've been reading here and there hasn't been a lot of talk about it on here.

Does anyone by chance know the part number for the stock outlet in the bed (or any good looking alternatives)? I want a stock look.

I will probably use an aftermarket switched inverter (those are fairly inexpensive around the 600-800W range). I'll probably use it for tailgating and camping (Small TV, Coffee pot, etc).

If anyone has done it....I would appreciate any advice!

Thank you!!
Robert

I think some folks looked into it and found out that the parts are uber-expensive. Like several hunderd bones for just the trim kit and cubby hole.

Sounds cheaper to just add in an aftermarket power inverter... Does it have to be in the bed? Check out PBs custom inverter http://www.cardomain.com/ride/832238/3

cant agree with that..........when i had my 06, the plug in came in handy lots of times!! if it werent for cost.....it would be totally worthwhile.

what about seeing if there is a wrecked trd tacoma at a junkyard and taking the stuff off it??

I've been looking to do the same mod. If it is unreasonably expensive, I am just going to get one of those outdoor style power outlets and put it in one of the cubbys.

Well, for tailgating and camping I think the thing would come in handy. It would also be great to be able to charge some tools when I am not near a power source. I don't need a generator's worth of power.

I thought about using an outdoor plug too in the cubby on the right. There is a boat store nearby that might have a good marine plug. I haven't found an outdoor that I like though, but for function....it would probably work fine.

Its not something I use everyday or even every week but it sure is nice knowing you have a power source ANYTIME you need one!
