Just shift in and out of 4wd once in a while. It relieves any pressure on the transfer case.

Too much in common man. Some asshole slammed their door against my truck and left a nasty chip in the pant and a dent. On top of that, there's another one on the other side. I'm living at the dorms...which explains the lack of sense of value from 'kids'. I'm in anchorage and usually leave 2wd on when I'm on a road that has a lot of traffic and ice worn down to pavement. I switch to 4wd when i stop at intersections or drive on neighborhood roads/back roads. Lastly, if it snows then I just leave it in 4wd until the lanes get worn in again.

PS: The rugged trail tires really are rugged "fails". Definitely get better tires.
