You don't need anything more than p-metric tires on a truck this small. They are more than capable of handling the truck loaded to the maximum recommended weight rating.

    Exactly...thank you.
But LT tires do make you think your junk is bigger...I'm pretty sure that's the reason these people buy them.

You guys appear stuck on the weight bandwagon.

Most people buy them, as stated earlier, because they are more durable for anyone who spends any significant amount of time off asphalt. And yes, it is factual that LT tires are more durable off road. Not to say they will never go flat, but it will certainly take more force to do so.

To suggest this is false, and to also suggest tire purchases enhance phallic enlargement, is just plain retarded.

Have you even tried a higher load rated tire on your truck? I went from the p to an e and am amazed at the difference! Granted if a d rated tire was available in the size I wanted in the bfg a/t I would have gone with it but am pleasently surprised with the ride with the e rated compared to the p rated. If your truck feels like it leans into the turns and follows ruts in the road try a stiffer side wall...you might be surprised. I know I was!

I agree that they have more puncture resistance. I believe I said that in an earlier post.
If someone is going wheeling alot then yeah get the tougher sidewall tire's. I don't wheel mine so the p-metrics are fine. I haven't had any flats. I pull a trailer with mine also, but to say "kill the guy who put p-metric tires on a 4,000lb truck"???

Yes I have tried them. The main reason I don't run them is because they are super heavy. My trucks a daily driver and I want to get the best possible gas mileage. A bfg at load range d is around 60 some odd pounds. My dueler revo 2's are 39lbs.(that's per tire weight) Big difference!!!

Not to mention the initial cost of the lt tires are more expensive also.

When I bought tires (265/75/16 General Grabber AT2), the P's were $147 but I couldn't get them, but they had 10ply's for $134. I work at a dealership and handle all of our tire orders/billing so I get hella deal on tires....usually

That was about a year ago. I just checked and that same tire in E rating is 147 my cost and I do NOT see them in a P rating anymore.
