Does anyone know the difference between the (P)-Passenger and (LT)-Light Truck tires from Nitto? Can I use the P version on a DC Tacoma? Thanks!

yep, you can use the p- metrics.......they are less heavy than a lt tire. not as rugged for offroading, but they will be good for light offroading and great for the road.

LT tires are usually made thicker (ie sidewalls 4 ply instead of 3 ply) and P's are softer for better highway comfort

Also, P-metrics often have less tread depth than LT tires which equates to shorter tire life.

All the Nittos TG's are a 2 ply side wall.

I have P's. I wanted an AT but I only go offroad occasionally and I don't tow.

Also means they do not have the strength capabilities to haul heavy loads, like LT tires can. P metrics a 4 ply max. tire. Where the LT tires range from 6ply load range C, all the way up to 8-ply Load range E. higher the load range the more weight each tire can hold.

Higher load ranges offer a stiffer tire, bad for off-road, because of the stiff side walls, and tire felxibility.

IMHO I prefer to run LT Load C 6-ply, even A/T's, that way you get the best of both worlds. A tire good for hauling, regular driving, off-road. Not to mention won't have to worry about a toothpick puncturing your tire, like a P 4-ply....Always stay with LT's.
