TRD cold air intake for 2009

alright cool, in the mean time i read this mod about removing the 2nd filter for the intake thats on there now, does this help at all or do you not know?

 

with the trd intake.....i think you may remove the whole airbox, so you wont need to remove the sec air filter.

 

no i meant before i get the new cold air intake

 

yeah........if you arent getting the cai for a little while.......pop the rivets off(make sure they dont stay in the intake) and replace the reg. air filter and all. decent increase, and the truck will idle better!!

very nice, think it will change how it sounds at all? does it hurt the gas mileage?

 

it breathes better.....which helps gas mileage, and it will have a better tone with the sec. filter gone!!

yeah i was reading all that earlier tonight, was thinking about getting some smoked or black tail lights but not sure how they would look on my 09 did you see my pic of it

 

thats a very nice ride man!!! not a fan of the new tail lights in the 09, but you could get them smoked....they'd look killer!!

 

i dont mind the new tail lights they dont bother me i dont see them haha, but i would like to get them smoked so ill have to keep an eye out for those

 

there is a guy on here who will smoke them for you....eltacoloco!!! he does awesome work....if you can be without the truck for a few days or so..........ship him the lights, and he'll hook you up too!!! great price too!!

so i just cut off the rivets to get that 2nd air filter out and thats all i have to do?

 

oh and i work in construction with a lot of dust, will taking that off be a bad idea?
