I gotta agree, as much as the older orange has been around and needed change, I'm just not feeling this change, prefer the older style.

Wow, so the whole white area lights up? That would freakin drive me crazy. Oct 2010 build, here. Regular ol' black & orange gauges, thankfully.

This is interesting. I have some electronic devices like a PDA with an astronomy program, a GPS, 2 electronic rifle scopes, and a few apps on my smartphone. All of these have a "night" mode designed to let you see the screen or viewfinder without too much reflective interferance. Guess what color the night mode is? Orangish Red.

I guess Toyota wasn't all that stupid for choosing the redish color on their dash. When I'm driving on unlit roads way out in nowhere at night, I adjust my dash to almost nothing. With the redish display I can really see out into the darkness better and not get distracted by the dash. If only the stupid clock would dim.

Personally I like the standard color and feel it was a well thought out decision.

Being a new Taco owner, I love the orange - I find it very easy to see and not bother at night.

After driving my Taco for awhile, I also found how much I like the fact the panel lights up with out the lights on (Day driving). On the weekends I usually drive the wife's 4runner as our "family" vehicle... I didn't notice it at first but I kept wondering why my panel was so much easier to see/read during the day than hers... then I noticed the extra lighting during the day.
