I'm looking to get a new bull bar in the next couple days. What's the best quality that isn't going to cost me an arm or a leg?

Do you want a Bull bar like an ARB bumper, or more of a Brush Guard style bumper?

If you're just getting a regular bull bar like mine, Aries and Westin are basically the same. Mine is the Aries and is probably cheaper. Won't provide a whole lot of protection. Looks decent though(IMO) and you could mount some lights on it. Also consider the Avid off road bar they're pretty sweet. If you want it for any sort of serious protection you should just replace the bumper. This is my Aries(with skid plate plate painted black).

I'm not looking to replace the bumper right now. I want a bull bar pretty much to give my front end some beef at this point. I am planning on mounting lights on whatever I get, though. I like the look of yours, Josh. I was leaning toward the Aries, but wanted to get some confirmation.

I just ordered the Aries and it looks good really nice quality. I dont like the little plastic caps that come on the Westin. I dont know about the Westin but i know the Aries has holes pre-drilled for lights!

I'll probably be ordering from AutoAnything.com, and on the order page for the Aries, is it necessary to get the license plate relocation kit?

I don't think so, but don't quote me on that. I've seen people that still have their front plate where it normally would be. Just not easily as visible from some angles.

I just sold my Westin for $80 (I welded on the Hella light tabs) and my Westin Runners for about the same. Keep checking the forum or Craigslist (Search Tempest).

I voted Other, for the Avid Offroad light bar.

I dislike how thick the bull bar is for so little real protection.

I don't see the Westin Bull bar representing anything more than a recognized status symbol over the Aries.

Well said sir... And they typically cost another $100 - $150 as well.

I've got an Aries on my rig, and I love it, simply because it's NOT a Westin!

Things like this are great for mounting lights. But if you're looking to "beef up" the front end you need to be looking at something like an ARB. If you hit something besides a shopping cart with one of these on your truck it's going to be a damage enhancer.
