The mpg debate has been going on forever and a day.

I feel that it a product of how you drive your vehicle. Put your foot in it and the mpg goes south. Drive smartly (this will come with age) and you will get great mileage.

In my '06 rc 4 cylinder a/t I would get in excess of 30 mpg .... one trip came in at 31.75. I am curious what I'll get in my '10 ac 4 cylinder a/t.

Now how does this happen ..... keep it below 2000 rpms ...... don't jack rabbit from stops ..... use the entire on ramp .... you'll be surprise that you can get up to highway speed at the merge spot ..... engineers have designed them this way.

I know that many of you will say I am full of shit but those who do this will disagree with you.

Hate the location of the rear diff lock.....right next to the fog light switch. I've hit it by accident a few times and had to pull over in a hurry to avoid damage to the diff.

After owning it for a few weeks coming to a complete stop it feels clunky right before you stop. Hard to explain. And when you release the brake you feel like there is a secondary brake releasing making another clunk.

I love my 2010 quad cab TRD Taco except:

    1. cup holders right under cig lighter/aux plug - I use mp3 holder which make right side cup holder useless and the little round one in front of the arm rest WTF. It could be a bit bigger.
    2. No locking tail gate - installed a dynolock power lock - very cool with a bakflip tonneau.
    3. Outside temp readout is concave and has red readout which catches glare and is hard to read - and why just outside temp and direction? why not an onboard computer with gas milage, distance to empty, average speed, etc. Fairly standard on other Toyota vehicles like my wifes RAV4.
    4. Stereo is kind of weak

    Other than that it's great

and my TDR has a hood scoop which looks great....

the only thing i noticed first thing is the seats and carpets easily gets dirty some all weather mats and seat fabrics would have been better to have standard especially on a vehicle that is taken to do some dirty job lol

FYI: This is extremely easy to fix. Just reach up behind the switches and remove them, then rearrange them to better suit your taste. The switches come out by pinching the release tabs that are on the top and bottom.
I just did this myself so that I could put my new heated mirror switch right beside the mirror adjustment switch. It just made sense to me that that would be the best place for it.

    The big things:
    Locking gas cap.
    Locking tailgate.
    Loud engine ticking noise (V6)

Doesn't need to be a Mercedes to resolve the above.

    The little things:
Shiny metallic radio surround throws a glare at times.
TRD interior only comes in gray which is fine until you get the tan or brown exterior.
Overhead compass/temp is so shiny, it's often difficult to read.
I don't like how rotating the temp knob to full-cold automatically triggers the A/C and recirc settings.
Excessive chrome badges on tailgate. ( gone now)
