My Tacoma has no intermittent wipers. I'd hi lo or off. Very annoying

I guess my only real complaint is no seat heaters and no pixel instrument cluster for a $30k vehicle. My 2010 Jetta that was like $19k brand new had heated seats and an instrument cluster. But, no worries, worked a deal with the dealer and they are installing heated seats for me.

I'm sure it's been said here before but the front vis is terrible in the taco. Crawling slow over objects and I'm sticking my body about half way out the window to see what's in front of me

No outside temp guage, cheap paint, can't charge cell phone unless truck is running, outrageous maintenance schedule (plugs at 30k? Diffs at 30k?). Mostly minor stuff but you would think that since Toyota hasn't changed this truck since 2005 they could work a few of these things in.

Sound system in the 2013. Sounds absolutely terrible, and the head unit interface is a mess.

It looks like the 2016 model will come with a locking tailgate. Hopefully, the glove box and gas cap door locks too.

I'm sure these have all been said:

    1- MPG sucks

2- access cab back seat is almost as bad as the fold down jump seats from my dad's 90's extended cab s10

3- access cab is rattley as hell on any bumpy surface

4- not enough gauges vs idiot lights

5- suicide doors are a PITA in parking lots

That's about it. I absolutely love everything else about my truck

Not a diesel, and I find the electronic 4x4 a tad strange at first and wish it was a manual shift like my old 4Runner.

I thought of something. I don't like how you can't adjust the volume of the stereo for the first five seconds it's on.

    After owning and loving:

    1988 Pickup
    1995 4x4 Pickup
    2000 4x4 Tacoma
    1999 4Runner

Here's a few things I did not like in my first two years:

    Trim fell off the roof
    Radio stops working randomly
Air vents close themselves when the AC is on high
Fuel door binds and scratches the paint off
Brakes have squeaked since about 4k miles (dealer says it's normal)
Rear seat head rests are next to impossible to remove and put back making folding the rear seat down a 15 minute chore.
Good luck getting out of an intersection if someone runs a red light. You step on the gas and it starts moving about next week.
    Poor mpg
Random part fell out from under the steering column. (Still trying to find where that goes)

I remember how happy I was to drive that brand new 2012 off the lot. Now after 22+ years of owning Toyota trucks, I realized that in the first 6 months of owning the 2012 I had more things go wrong than the previous 20 years combined. That's disheartening.

Ha ha true, but If I knew frame will rust on it I would have saved myself a headache ....

    One thing I dont like:

1 Paint job Toyota did on the frame and body..

There are Russian Submarines with less rust.

Adding to what others have stated:
#1 Visibility- horrible at it's best
    #2 Lack of seat adjustment(up/down).
    #3 Need bigger mirrors
    #4 No outside temp gauge.

    Some stuff...
    1. Shitty needle bearings - need replaced if you lift.
    2. The LED light on the clutch override start stays on.
    3. The recirc doesn't stay on very long when you engage it with the button.
    4. Cannot totally turn off the LED display/it doesn't dim with the control gauge dimmer.
    5. Very little wheel well room for larger shoes (without cutting and chopping).

The lack of rear ac vents in the DC is very lame.

Yeah, that is a bit annoying. The good thing is I can roll down the back windows from my seat, so that usually shuts up the rear passengers :)

Even if nothing ever goes wrong with your Tacoma, it is still a money pit especially if you are on this forum.
