i've noticed that my lumbar support, which i use fully adjusted "out", will go down after a week or so of driving in the truck. then, i'll have to turn the wheel counterclockwise all the way to get it back to fully out.

does this occur for anyone else? i am under the impression that it should just stay where i set it...

yea, i've noticed too. i think whenever you get in or out, you press against it, pushing it back into the seat. sometimes I feel it "pop" back a few notches when i sit down.

hey guys saw this thread and it reminded me of work. im a toyota tech, i actually just replaced a whole driver's seat in an fj yesterday because the ratcheting up/down lever on the seat slowly lowered itself over time... it eventually broke and the lever doesnt do anyhting. it was warranty so we replaced the whole seat... but theres a tsb for it too on the fj... it was replaced under warranty. its caused just like JDMcompliant said by "sliding" out of our seats. everyone does it... im not saying go to ur dealership and demand a new seat, cuz it wont make a difference. and they wont give u a new seat anyways ha. i just wanted to give u guys some insight on the issue i've seen.

    thanks guys. so it's normal....

the reason i asked was mainly because the first night i had this truck, the lumbar broke! i went to adjust it, spun it toward the front two spins and it sorta popped then the adjuster was very loose and screeched. i brought it in and they ordered some parts. they actually took the seat apart and repaired it as opposed to swapping the whole seat - i was surprised it was serviceable, but it was.

it works fine, but i notice it goes down after a week or two and when it's all the way down if i lean to the right and back it'll sorta pop in the seat a bit. it all works ok though and apparently seems to be somewhat normal.

there should be some sort of locking mechanism on it.
