5100 at 1.75 better or worst articulation

Question what are the pro's and con's stock travel vs the billies at 1.75. This is on a 2011 DC TRD Off Road. Is the articulation changed better or worse than stock.

 

We you will have less down travel. But really its IFS so we don't get much out front.

 

How much does it affect when off roading?

 

I'm good road its not a solid axle but it works well. I have a lot of ground clearance with the lift and tires.

 

Can the 5100's take a medium pounding. Trails up to a 3?

 

Yeah I hit the Eagle lakes trail with mine and its a 4/5 you should be fine on just about any trail in your area. I mean if you get into the rubicon you will have issues with IFS but I have seen guys do it.

 

Lose down travel, but gain approach angle and ground clearence.

I personally think the 5100s are badass because you can convert them to Toytec C/O's if you choose.

Yeah no problem I'm willing to take my truck on up to a 7 with this setup I just need rock sliders so I don't mess up the body.

We do trail runs a few times a year up near you so when you get your lift keep checking the norcal thread for trail run updates.
