I have a 2010 Tacoma SR5 and have been attempting to burn MP3's and WMA files to CD to play in the truck.

I've been using Maxell CDRW's but every time I put them in the player it gives the message "Loading" and then "Error 1".

From what I've determined Error 1 means it's a dirty CD. There is no way the CD's are dirty as they are brand new and never been outside of a case. That, and they work fine in every computer I use them in.

I was wondering if anyone out there has burned audio files to CD or CDRW and had them work.

What brand and speed of CD were you using?

Don't have the cd player in question, but I've never had great luck with Maxell. I like Sony or Verbatim. Never had one fail.

I don't think its the brand. Try using iTunes to burn. Make a playlist and burn to disk, should work. FYI, I have a factory CD player without MP3 playback. I believe it has to be burned as a specific type of format to play in a CD player.

I use Memorex CD-R's all the time. I have a huge collection of concert bootlegs. I play more cd's that have been burned than I do store bought releases, and they play great.

Yeah, probably an issue with the media being CDRW instead of just CD-R.

Another +1, RW probably not good.

    I've had luck with TDK CD-R80. (700MB, 80 min)

I know MP3s can work great - 7+ hours on one disc!

I also know that Apple AAC files do NOT work. (... which is unfortunate, because a bunch of my stuff is in that format. Thanks a lot, iTunes!)
