i have two mountain bikes that i wanna transport to the woods i have the mounts to attach the front forks to something i used a 2x6 board in the past but does anyone know how to attach it to the rail in my bed where i remove it like the rail tie downs

 

I think you can find those on any Toyota Parts website. You can also try Yakima or Thule...

i had bought them from when i had my last truck but had them mounted to a board and yes toyota has some but i wish to use the ones i already have just gotta find a way to mount them to the rails if you egt them id love a pick of how they mount so i can replicate the screws in some way

 

Do you have something like the Yakima BedHead or BlockHead? If so, its quite easy to mount to the rails. There were pics here or ToyotaNation.com, I cant remember where I found them now. I think the latter.

Any way, its simple - just get two round head bolts or carriage bolts that are large enough to slide into the track assembly. Drill matching holes (or use the holes that should be on the clamp) and just bolt them on. Thats all there is too it really. From the rail it would be - carriage bolt slid into the rail, then the mount, a washer, nut. Wing nuts can be used as well for easier dismount.

That is a Rocky Mount Clutch rack made just for the rail system. Its not the best pic, but should give you the idea.

Go there and you will see close ups of a Rocky Mount and the cheaper XPort mount and how they attach. Like I said - its simple!

anyone know of a way to securely lock the bike in the bed without having to put on a shell?

 

I just used vinal coated cables with a pad lock looped through the tie down cleats. Weave the cable between the frame, rear wheel, and the loose front wheel. And hope your saddle is not overly attractive to anyone who knows how to work a quick release. Otherwise throw the seat / seat post in the truck.

 

thats the same thing i did it also makes sure they dont flip up in case of hard breaking
