    Cheers Gents!
I am new to Tacoma World and I need some advice. I have a 2011 TX Pro 4x4 and looking to get the best quality lift around 3". I want to run 285/75/16 BFG AT KO's but want a quality product. I need to stay below 3" on the lift to be able to fit in parking garages and keep my 16" wheels.

If I buy Bilstein 5100's and adjust them to the 2.5" setting is that all I need to run 285's along with maybe some minor fender wall lining trimming?

I do mild-moderate wheeling, but always stick to the trail. 6" lift is out of the question for me.

Or should I go with a Tough Country 3" spacer kit. So confused, also because not sure if 5100's work with 2011 models.
Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.
I know there is a lot on info on 5100's but most is not applicable due to 2011 model year

    Please Help!!!
    Thanks fellas

"Best Quality 3" lift"......You may want to consider an Old Man Emu set up. That would be better than setting the 5100's at a 2.5" setting.

one more question, can i just buy the 5100's in the front, and call it a day? or do i need longer springs, any spacers, or basically anything else? not sure if i have to buy a full lift kit with 5100's or just the two front shocks?

I know i must seem like a lome-o but just lost on all this...
    Thanks

I would go OME route, and get there 3" lift from Toyteclifts.com
Or you could go with the 2.5" Billy's, but It would require more triming.

With the 5100's you should lift the rear about 1.5" to get the truck more level, with a AAL (Add-A-Leaf)
And 5100's in the rear would help the ride too.

Thank you all so much. Each comment is clear and very helpful. I think the OME route sounds nice, just not to sure inf my budget can handle the OME and BFG 285's... but if anything's worth doing, its worth doing right... So, the more notable thread should be OME VS. 5100's... Both full lift kits are near equal in price...
    Thanks All!!!

Its basically what your preference is with which route you go either Bilstien or Old Man Emu. (anything but spacers) I have billies set at 2.5 in the front with stock springs. In the rear, toytec AAL 1.5 with stock shocks. you can always buy billies for the rear later on if you care for them.

you can also search what other people have done and their experiences with both. Dont worry about getting shims or driveshaft drops, i hear a lot more harm than any benefits. and remember "better" is subjective upon everyones opinions and experiences.
