I just moved my 5100s from the .85 setting to the 2.5 setting on my TRD Sport prerunner. The ride didn't change that much, but I'm wondering what the ride would be like with the Eibachs and the 5100s set at .85. Is there anyone out there that has made this switch and can you comment on the ride quality? My truck is all highway. My commute is 160 miles round trip. If all I'm losing is a little down travel, I can live with that. The Sport springs are linear rate springs, so I should have increased the rate by compressing, I just wanted to know if the Eibachs might be a little softer feeling.

Good job. I have mine set on 2.5 too. Doesn't really ride that much stiffer than stock. I think we just have a bunch of pussies on here that are too afraid to set theirs at 2.5 because someone told them the ride might be bad. C'mon people it's a truck its never going to have a smooth ride. If you want a smooth ride go buy a cadillac.

I hear the eibachs are a softer spring than the OME's. I'm still trying to figure out which coil spring i'm going to add to mine to get a full 3" I'm leaning toward the OME 885 though.

Well, I think a lot of the ride issues with 5100s depends on what you had to start with. The off road TRD has progressive rate springs so the more you compress them the higher the spring rate is. Most people that complain of a really harsh ride with the 5100s have the OR TRD. The sport and the base SR5 have linear rate springs so they shouldn't have this problems. I'm specifically looking for someone that went from 2.5 setting to .85 and Eibachs so they can give me some input on the ride difference.
