Went to go get the mail today and noticed a musty smell in the truck. Lifted up my passenger side floor mat and it was wet or slightly damp. I have the factory floor mats as well as rubber aftermarket mats on top of the factory mats. Could I just be getting condensation from having too many mats, or should I just remove the carpet factory mats and keep the rubber mats. I can't find any leaks from rain under the passenger side at all.

well here is what just happened to me. i spilled a coffee on pass. side. i used a carpet cleaner, then a prof. cleaning. coffee smell was gone but then the must smell came through. i ended up having mold in the padding under the carpet. i had to replace the entire interior carpet. if its under your carpet and getting moldy, you kinda sol. i tried everything

well, My mercedes experience would say clogged A/C drain, rain storm back fills heater/a/c box and you get wet floor; or Just A/C condensation and clogged drain. But check the wheel well area for any missing plugs.. I have no tacoma specific experience to lend.

happened to me a couple times in my truck. Passenger side kept being soaked after rain. finally one night while it was pouring i went and laid in the dang thing and looked around. If u pull the kick panel out there is a rubber ball looking thing that pops into the sheet metal up and behind the kickpanel area. Seems like half of it sticks through one side and half through the other. Mine had some how got knocked out and water was pouring in around it. All i had to do was pull it back through till it locked in to place. Try looking for that if you havent already located the problem
