Factory VIP security system

I have an 08 SR5 PreRunner D-Cab with one of the factory VIP security systems installed. For the life of me, I can't find the microphone that is supposed to hear glass breakage, ect. I have tried to test by banging on the windows and I do not even get a peep out of the system. I did test the alarm function by arming system with a window down, and reaching in and manually unlocking and opening a door, it sounded the alarm. Does anyone know if some of these systems were installed without the microphone for listening for dampering / glass breakage?

 

Don't know which VIP model you have but most factory alarms only have a shock sensor, not microphone. Try taking the kick panel/steering column panel off and look in the area behind the fuse block. Most shock sensors are zip-tied to the bundle of wires.

there is a small microphone in the status monitor. when they installed mine they installed the status monitor in one of the three blanks down above cupholders.
