I have a 2005 Doublecab Prerunner. I've had it aligned 5 or 6 times, with the last time being less than .5 degree off side to side, so they didn't charge me. It pulls to the left, with equal air in tires, rotated, perfect alignment, etc. I'm at @ 80,000 miles, with no accidents or frame damage. Any ideas ? It does seem to pull harder when I'm slowing down, as if the caliper is sticking. Not sure if this would affect it like it is now.

def could be a brake issue such as caliper sticking. my jeep was doing that and i swapt the caliper and now its all set... after you drive the truck for a while can you ever smell hot brakes?

Swap tires left-for-right and see if it's a tread problem.

Didn't think you were supposed to do that with tires these days... Rotate front to back, not side to side.

For diagnostic purposes go ahead and switch em.

Along with hanging brakes, wheel bearings and stuck/empty shocks can be a culprit.

Could be a tire issue "radial pull". Move the tires left and right.
Find a buddy or buy one laser temp gun. Drive the vehicle around for a little then pull over and shhot the calipers with laser temp gun. It's a good way to see if calipers are hanging up. One will be hotter than the other. Good luck.....:smash:

Some tires depend on rotation direction; others don't. But for the purposes of testing, it's fine. I had tread separation on my old Nissan truck that went undiagnosed until I tried this.

I had a pull to the right for quite a while. I had an alignment done by a dealership, then a tire shop, then finally a third shop did it right.

The third guy didn't use a computer, he did it all with gauges the "old fashioned way". Said my camber (I think) was way off on the right side, and started talking about how too many places slap their sensors on the vehicle, and if the computer gives them a green light they call it good. When he was done, the pull was gone.

Not saying that's necessarily what's happening with yours though, since you said you're noticing it more when you slow down. I noticed mine at all times, though I did notice some funky behavior now and then while slowing down, but there was nothing wrong with my brakes.

Had a Jeep that did that too. Caliper started sticking hard all at once. This sounds like a progressive issue. Any shakes in the steering wheel to indicate a balance issue or a tire coming out of round?

Is the tread worn evenly on both front tires?

The tread is about the same left to right. I never smell any brake odor. The front end does have a little shimmy when you get up to 60 or so. I can be in the far right hand lane, and take my hand off the wheel, and it will pull over to the left, even over the center lane, which is slightly ramped up. I'll have to borrow our IR gun from work to check out the calipers. If I'm slowing down, and take my hands off the wheel, it's really pronounced pulling to the left. Sad thing is, I've had it back to the dealer 4 times for alignments, and it checks out fine every time.

Do you have any mods or lift? If you have pulling along with shakes then I would take it to a NON-Dealer alignment shop to have the alignment re-checked, along with rotate/balance of tires.
