    Google shopping... once you have the part number (get it at any toyota parts site) its easy. Shipping and all will be a big chunk of that. I just go to my dealer for parts most of the time due to shipping. The discount oem sellers can't get it to me in a manner worth using them.

    but there's some low price universals out there. 4wheel parts sells them.

    If you want the OEM one, theyr'e all pretty much the same price, but where you'll save is the shipping.

    trdparts4u is out of Dallas and 1sttoyotaparts is out of seattle. not sure of others.

    I got lucky and found a deal on craigslist.

    It's really simple. You bolt the brackets onto your truck bed and the extender can be taken out/put in really simple and fast.

    I believe the OEM one is made by Amp Research. I want to get the Amp from another source because they offer it in black. Seems to run $175, plus you need the $7 latch kit. The latch kit is what holds the extender down on the tailgate by clipping into the stock latches.

    Yes the Toyota extender is the Amp Research X-tender. You don't "need" the latch kit but it will keep the extender from bouncing up and down. I ordered mine from 4wheelparts.com during the $40 instant rebate, free shipping with in-store pick up and got the latch kit off of Amazon.com
