My next mod for the spring will be grille related, but I can't decide on which route to go. I'm really lovin the new '11 grille - the single bar and hex web. It's got me stuck from moving ahead with a Satoshi. Either way, I'm purchasing a new color matched grille from oemparts123.com - the '10 and '11 are the same price. Discuss...

I voted other, because I contacted oemparts123.com, in regards to me purchasing a sport grille to replace my chrome.... and they said the '11's aren't available yet?!?!

If this is true, I would vote satoshi, if not, I would vote '11. Hence the "other vote".

Voted for 3, I kinda like the '11 grilles but the satoshi is dope too. I think the '11 grilles are available from that guy at town and country toyota. I think people have been getting them. I'll find the link for you.

I personally don't like the satoshi so I voted for the 11 grille.

    RC,

The answer depends on what you are trying to accomplish, individuality or looking pretty much like most stocks Tacomas.

It's my humble opinion that while the 2011 grill is some what different, it still retains it's "standard" grille look, thus making it look like similar at first glance. It's the single bar with the chrome Toyota emblem you "see" first. Yup the hex is cool but there is not enough of it for me.

If Satoshi is your goal, then the the 2011 grill is not a contender. I ripped in to my 2011 grille with Satoshi in mind, but was pretty much stopped cold when I took a good look. It contains much less plastic body than the 05-10 grilles; therefore, making it almost impossible to go Sotashi. On the other hand, a grille craft grille will slip right in the front once the bar is removed. While I can't, at the moment, support my comments about the 2011 grille with pictures, I was able to easily install the GrillCraft grille to my 2011, but have not installed the new grill assy to date.

    And

    ryanr623,

The 2011 grille may not be avail from oemparts123.com, but I called, ordered and receive a painted 2011 grille assy for my 2011 two weeks ago from Toyota Parts bin.

    Cheers

    Bob

It's replies like this that makes me love this place!

I never thought of the differences between the '10 & '11 due to the redesign. Even more to think about now...blast

added note: the chrome emblem is way bigger on '11's then 2010's

2011 grill's are available. My color matched grill just arrived last week. Only took the dealer one day to get it so they are definitely out there. I posted in the vendor review area regarding this purchase.

Right now the 2011 grill isnt very common, and I think satoshi is a little overdone. A year form now though, there will be a million 2011's on the road and it wont be nearly as "different". For me, it was a time investment. The 2011 took me about 10 minutes to order, and 5 to install. A satoshi would have taken a weekend or more to make. Cost wouldnt be that much different after accounting for paint, mesh, fiberglass, sandpaper, and this way I can go riding the rest of the weekend.:)

I voted 2011 grille. I just bought a 2011 color matched grille for my 2010. Should be here today. Like the looks of the satoshi, but too much work for me.

Thats a good idea if you got the loot. Whichever way, I would stay with color match. My chrome grill is peeling and it's 2 years old. I would like a 2011 color match on my truck.
    Please post pics when installed.

It's all about personal preference man.

I personally love the look of a Satoshi, and think the '11 grills look like ass. Just my $0.02.
