Hey guys, couple questions. I have owned 2 chevy colorados, sold them, got a mustang gt , and sold that. Now looking for a tacoma. I found 2 around my area. I am 18, paying for my own college, and pay for my cars. I wasn't really wanting to spend 13k but we will see. Should I worry about the miles? I know these trucks will last forever. What are these trucks worth?
I am really trying to get the second one because it is closer, and like the look of the sport package better.
    Here are the details

05 tacoma, 4x4, double cab, short bed, 103k miles, 1st owner, trd off road package, new tires. He will take 13k. Manual

05 tacoma, 4x4, double cab, short bed, 113k miles, 2nd owner, sport package # 2. Automatic, almost new tires also. Has the compass and temp display. Looks better in my opinion. He is firm on 13k.

So could I go wrong with either of these? Do they both seem like good deals?
    Thanks for the response.

Depends, both have more features. Do any of them have the towing package? (from factory..) Also.. the auto is nice, but if you love manulas... well.. then there ya go.

I don't love them, but would drive one for a good enough deal. They both have towing packages from factory

I don't think you will disappointed with either one from your description. I personally would get a Carfax report on both to make sure the owners are being totally honest. $44.99 for 5 reports is a small price to pay to get a reliable truck.

With that said, I have a sport doublecab 4x4 auto tranny. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I was a die hard manual driver until I drove an automatic in my last car - jeep cherokee. I'll never go back to a manual, especially if you spend any time in traffic.

    Good luck!

I'm not sure what was in the '05 TRD OR package but I chose my '10 in that package for the factory locker.

baseballfan, do you know the specifics of that year package?

I know it does have the locker, yes a locker would be nice. But I am not planning on doing too much hard core off roading.

The TRD I'm guessing may have better resale. 1 owner vehicle and slightly lower miles are nice.

Which of the 2 trucks has more complete maintenance records?

Why does the 2nd truck "look better in my opinion"?

I like the hood scoop even though it doesn't do anything, and the wheels look nicer in my opinion.
