toyota trucks have a loose box because of the design I am not sure what they call it but its not the same as a domestic truck, tacos have a lot more twist to them, noise from springs happens to all these trucks a lil lube on the bushings should solve it, as for your other noises I have not heard of them before.

I had that noise and decided it was time to check every bolt on the truck if it is tight. the two front box bolts where not even tight at all.

    6. Love my truck.:) But I noticed that it is has a clunk when pulling away from a stop. I also noticed yesterday that under hard braking it feels like I have been hit in the rear a second after I stop. Almost like it is coming out of gear and re-engaging after the stop. Concerned it may be in the tranny. :( Have not talked to service yet. Anyone heard of this.

I have an 09 dbl cab, V6, 2 wd, TRD Sport. I had vibration from day 1. The selling dealer did a all wheel/tire balance, still had vibration, then did a road force balance, still not fixed. The 3rd time they used a different adapter that they didn't have before. I think that has fixed the issue.

I have had the worse electrical problems out of this truck than all previous vehicles combined. Right rear window motor went out, electronic 4x4 computer, went out, malfunctioning gauges, and thermometer/compass in upper console died. Luckily the 4x4 computer was under warranty along w/ guages. I replaced window motor and fixed upper console myself. Seems like there was something else electrical that was fried too. I love my truck, but the electronics has been disappointing. I have made absolutley no modicifations that should effect the electronics of my truck.

    6. Replaced the battery, suspension, steering rack and pump, oil pan(my fault), frame support bar(my fault), two clutches getting ready to put a 4th in.. 1st clutch was my fault, second clutch i missed third fartin around with my buddy and melted the disk together. as for my current clutch i have not a clue to how its slipping i have barely been driving my truck anywhere besides to my girlfriend's house and work which in total is only 50 miles to and from. Along with having to tighten every bolt on the bed atleast three times and now its still loose and i can't even use an air gun with a torque head to tighting them

2006 double cab 4.0 trd sport sr5 4x4. sometimes i hear a clanking noise when i brake at low speeds. only clanks when i first apply the brakes. i assume its the pads are loose or something to that nature. all other vibrations and noises are my fault due to the lift :)

im hearin tapping noises at my drivers side and passenger side windows where it meets it at the top of the door seal. i wished there were a TSB out on this before my warranty runs up.

gotta get the TSB for the pin hole in the windshield's seal soon too.

other than that.. i think my air vents make squeaky noises when i change the temp for the cold/hot

I hate the tapping. I hear it most when driving with the windows down from 1/4-1/2. The thing drives me nuts.

Also, what is the TSB for the windshield?

    6) Off road clunk in steering linkage driving over sharp bumps. This is from the soft rubber in the steering column joints. It is normal and a "Tacoism". I use my Taco for geologic work offroad very often. It does well and is a good, sound vehicle.

I have had none of the other issues that others complain about. I consider myself fortunate. I like my Taco.

Warren your one of the lucky ones.

I own a 06 V6 access cab TRD SR5 4x4.I have had a leaking power steering rack it was replaced, leaking timing cover-resealed,transmission mount replaced for shudder on acceleration, tires rebalanced twice for vibration. This is were it gets fun. When toyota did the timing cover the replaced the front crank seal as well and they claimed their was a rear engine leak.So they pulled they engine and said they were not sure if it was the rear crank seal or the head:confused: so they did both.i drove for three weeks and then the VVT on the same head had issues so they replaced the camshaft timing gear assembly. Now I noticed oil on the front of engine.I rinsed it off and I will have to wait and see if it comes back.Oh and I have a thump in the rear end.

I am not happy with my truck at all.It has been a total POS since day one.Every 5,000 mile service I have to have something repaired.:boom:

    Congratulations It's A Lemon!!!!

Radio has its own brain. Likes to shut off and change channels and volume on its own. Talked to dealership and they said it is an on going problem and the radios are on back order for 3-4 months. But they will replace it under warranty

    UPDATE:
I forgot to mention - when I bought the truck, the windshield washer pump was wimpy. They fixed that before I took delivery.

Currently with 20,000 miles on it....
I get the Auto lurch that everyone talks about - it's normal to me.
I rarely get a slight vibration when I start to move- not worried about that and seems normal. It shifts hard when cold but again, normal to me. Other minor noises & issues don't really bother me.

My radiator cap was replaced because it appears it was leaking. I lost almost all the fluid in my overflow tank. Dealer replaced cap and filled up my overflow tank.

In the colder months & especially on cold days.... when I turn corners, my overhead dome light will come on briefly. Dealership couldn't find anything wrong. This winter when it happens again, I'm tempted just to swap the door switches from side to side to see if that cures anything.

I had the leaf spring TSB done....and really glad I did. I can actually handle a full scoop of mulch.
