Is there such a system? I read that that Venza and Tacomas now have this system that cuts engine power in case of simultaneous application of both accelerator and brake pedals. The reason I am asking is, I drive with winter boots and because of my big feet I can apply both brake and gas if not careful. With ABS the brake pedal goes down farther and at the same time if by accident I apply the gas pedal than stopping would be an issue. I own a 2008 taco and no problems until this happened when the road ended and the ditch started. The harder I pressed the faster I went.

My 2010 had this done when the accelerator pedal recall was done and the ECU re-flashed. My guess is it is standard on the 2011.

    Too few to list.
Standard on half of 2009's and on. Brake override doesn't kick in until a certain speed (5mph-moving) so you can still do power brake launches on the strip. It also doesn't work if you apply the brakes before you apply the gas.

I love those Venzas. They are so nice.

The brake over ride system is part of the gas pedal recall.

In the same re-flash for the brake override includes the tranny shift point adjustment for automatics.

You either have it from the factory (depending on year), or it gets done as part of the recall. Attached is a document that explains how it works.

I hate to be the one to necro a thread but I have just almost not come back home because of brake over ride system. I got it installed during brake pedal recall.

I was pulling out of the parking lot only to get cut off by a guy doing exactly the same from parking lot across the street. I hit brakes to slow down and like a second later want to merge into traffic before a vehicle that was still 300+ feet away. Nothing happens. NOTHING. Revs dropped waaaaay down and car slowly rolled. At this point I am still on the gas pedal and like a second or two afterwards my truck takes off like a rocket.

Car that was 300+ feet away almost rear ended me because of this stupid recall thing.

Sigh I miss the good old days when my ECU was not reflashed.
