Finally got it back and installed. I think I may do a write up on my experience in the product review sub-forum. Watch for more...........options include: Yakima roof rack, vented windoors both sides, tilt down front slider, headliner, front and rear 12v light.

    Hoosiertaco.

Will you summarize your experience dealing with ARE. Did you go through your top dealer or directly through ARE?

The thin plastic trim that wraps around the bottom exterior of my topper has come unglued, and I'm going to have to have something done about it.

Does anyone know if there are any other trucks shells that will fit the second gen Tacoma?.....I'm sure there are lots that would do,but I was curious if there were perfect matches out there.I've been toying with the idea of a cap and looking at the usual online used goods sites. There are a ton of second hand caps out there but precious few that are specific to my truck.

    thx.

Thanks spp, what I meant was is there another brand of truck which takes the exact same cap as ours?(Frontier,Canyon,Dakota etc).......If I was to come across a cap from one of these, would it fit the Taco just right?

Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

I don't think so. I don't know of another truck that has a 5ft short/6ft long bed, let alone the same style tie down rails. It's not like most trucks with the bed rail you can use any ol' C style clamp to hold it down. So even if you found a cap from another truck you'd have to find/make clamps to hold it down.

Thanks PT,that's kind of what I thought, but with such an abundance of pre-owned caps for everything under the sun,I thought I'd check.
