A cap is like an off road vault you can store expensive dirty things NGAF and lock it :D

From surfboards to chainsaws to my full size spare, high lift, shovel, axe, Peli recovery box, TREDs, and Rotopax.. I can keep anything in my bed with a peace of mind

Anyone have pictures of bikes in the bed with a camper shell?
I could hold 4 mountain bikes easily in the back of my old 2000 Ram 1500 with Snug top, removing the front wheel and using fork mounts bolted to a 2x4. Wondering how well that set up will work on a LB Tacoma. I haven't' had a chance to take my hard tonneau off and take measurements yet.

What are the dimensions on the DCSB bed? Sorry not driving my truck today and have been searching for a cover. In my area it's almost impossible to find (USED) a 05-11 shell and was curious if any other models from another truck would fit, like ranger, frontier etc...

Bike without the front wheel (for fork mount) is 5 1/2', bed is 6' (advertised). Should be able to get at least 3 back there I would think.

Picked up a Leer 180 on CL. It was in rough shape, and the wrong color. I sanded it, primed it, and painted it with Monstaliner Bed Liner. Really happy with the way it turned out. Hoping to get it on the truck this evening. Will post more pics once installed.

^ That turned out nice. You'd never know what it used to look like!

Is that wheel in the background attached to a Ranger?

Sky gear: give me a chance will ya! :D. Just bought this truck end of June and I've got babies to feed. Next up is lift and tires. I did the leer first in order to get lift right.

I read through your whole build a few weeks ago and it serves as one of my inspirations. Fantastic truck you have there.

It's definitely a late-'90s wheel, but I'm seeing a stabilizer jack in three of the pictures and a straight frame in the last one, so I'm guessing trailer.

Scott B: Good eye! It is a ranger wheel, but is attached to my tent trailer. It is an 8 foot box Rockwood that I did a spring over axle swap and added All Terrains. I will see if I can find a pic.

4 kids here. Do the light mod I did with the prop switch for the topper first. That is one of the best inexpensive mods to do. Being able to use the tailgate area for other things and having it lit up is awesome.

as for the topper mods I did already. You can get roof tracks off Amazon or other online places for $70-$100

I'm not done modding mine yet. going to put some eye nuts in there for a net. On the bottom of the mounting bolts I used to mount the tracks. Also, once I get the welder, will be making a rack system internally for the mounting of tools and such.

thinking about getting a camper shell for my DCSB. I have the OEM roof rack on it so I'm wondering what the best option is in terms of having racks on the shell that best compliment the OEM racks in terms of height, appearance, etc. I'm guessing a cab-high shell with something like thule racks installed or maybe the snugtop XTR with the built-in tubular racks. This would be for a long kayak, lumber, possibly a baja rack in the future...

Anyone have pics of a similar set up? There's probably one in the 100+ pages of responses in this thread, but I'm not going to plow through it.
