excellent help agtex, thank you. I will need to call the dealer Monday and have him run some prices seperately.

Are you kinda feeling like you could definately do without the gun case then? That is what's pushing me to the wilderness package.

Yeah, if you plan to use it solely as a gun case then I think it's worthless from the factory because there is no way to secure the gun once you have it in there. Hopefully I'll be able to rig up something that will take care of it, but if not it will still be nice to have the extra storage space as I only have a reg cab.

You were a tremendous help for me. With the double cab, my back seats fold down and make a good table. I can do without this overhead storage. I'll be making a call Monday and putting on my wheel$Deal hat:D Many thanks again.

I did remove mine and I'm currently using it as a small tool box, by glue a carpet to a 1x8x?? lumber cut to the inner length between the cap walls and turning it upside. It will not handle properly any long gun in it, even with the already carpeted interior and since I use my cap as a bed when hunting/fishing/outdoors it was not able to dress comfortably in the camper. Later I will be able to send a photo of this setup.

    THIS IS THE PHOTO...

    Leer 100XL,

Very satisfied with this high quality unit..
I was torn between 100XR and 100XL, but opted for the sleeker look over functionality.. Glad I went with this one in the end.
Rear wing windows open about 2.5inches and the front slider opens up also, so it gets cool air plus I have a 12V fan in there for warm nights :)
Oh, forgot to mention that I have a truck Bedz in the back too.

I really like my ARE MX series, with the Windoors, although actually I just brought it back to the dealer and they removed it from the truck to send back to the factory. The paint and/or fiberglass was cracking around one of the windows.
ARE was extremely acommodationg, the dealer was great. I'm supposed to get it back in a couple of weeks, so hopefully things are fixed properly.

It's too bad it happened, but it's nice to see a compnay willing to stand behind it's products.

Sorry, I do have pics, but none with me for the next few days anyways.

I'm not too worried as I was pleased with the response from ARE.

The V series looks like a nice cap. Did you get any options?

See tha pictures attached for my cap.

    Let me know LEER's response.

As I indicated before, ARE was extremely accomodating.

I'll have to see how it is once I get it back.

Those connector 'boots' are notorious for causing paint abrasion on the cab and/or the canopy.

Not yet. Apparently my dealer has to call the rep again, and they have not done so. Getting a little annoyed...

Not sure what else they need. The dealer called it in originally, and then asked me to send the pictures in. I did so, and the rep asked for the serial number. I provided that. It's been over two weeks since that happened...
