i have an 07 and am looking to go for the satoshi mod here pretty soon. only thing is, i dont know if i trust myself. i want to try, but dont want to be left hanging when (if) i totally destroy my stock grille. so, im thinking my solution is this: buy an extra grille, satoshi that one and have two chances/a satoshi and a stock to switch in and out. for $35 bucks, i figured i might as well go for it. my question is will this grille fit my stock tacoma? it looks like its OEM and looks the same as the one on there now.

also, i noticed its called an 'action crash grille assembly.' is that just the company name, or does it mean this is like from a truck that was in an accident and was parted out?

RIP to my 08 Prerunner DC
Action Crash is a company name. Look to the left and you can see their logo. I believe this grille should work, and for the price you can't beat it. Go for it man. I did it and love mine, so many people comment on it. It really isn't too hard just time consuming.

I don't think the $56 grille is color matched. I think it's just primed and ready for paint. I've emailed them twice asking about the difference between the $32 grille and the $56 grille, but they never reply. I'm guessing maybe the $56 grille is better quality, more heavy duty, etc.?

If you pull the trigger please give a report, for cheap money I would be all over the color matched version!

Just looking at the enlarged photo of the MGM grill, it looks painted to me? There's gloss reflection on spots...

It's not actually color matched. IIRC it's the base color. There was a thread on this a while back. I bought one and satoshi'd it. Turned out decent. I scratched it up quite a bit so instead of painting I used herculiner, which turned out halfway decent. Let me see if I can find the thread...

The $56 grill comes in two pieces, makes it easier to paint if you color match. The $32 is one piece.

Yes the $32 grille is one piece at least mine was. The tabs are melted on so you can't disassemble it.

Okay, so it's not color matched. But, if you buy the 2-piece, do the prep work yourself and get the face plate color matched, i'd think that'd still be cheaper than OEMparts123?

Plus you save a lot of hassle and time with not having to mask off the color match area for the satoshi. Hmm...

It also says the 32.00 one is black mica and the 56.00 is just base model gray one. Doesn't seem to make sense. I'd think the plain unpainted base gray one would be 32.00. Big score for someone wanting a black mica one tho. Either way, grab the 32.00 one to make satoshi.............

i ordered one last night and got an email from them today. apparently, they wont ship if your mailing address is different from your billing address, so i have to call the credit card co and get that figured out. from that other thread, though, it seems people have had luck with these

Even if you have to paint it to match your truck, you cant beat those prices so I think it would be worth it.
