Rear End Noise While Truck Is Shut Off

Well, I've noticed it a few times but when my truck is shut off for awhile i hear this noise coming from the rear. It sounds like the glow plugs like when you turn the key on on a diesel engine. You know that buzz noise of some sort. Its weird b/c my truck isnt even running and its when the truck has been off so its cold/regular temp.

Maybe a pump?

 

It is some emissions control unit or something like that. It tells you on the first couple of pages of the truck manual.

 

that is odd that it is coming from the rear... get under there and check it out when you hear it. see where it could be coming from. All of my cars have buzzed for a few seconds after shutting them off but that is the computers on them and they are up front.

 

Ok thanks. Maybe its mid truck not the rear

 

Is this something to worry about?

LOL. It did it before that.

 

after 4 hours of being shutoff it runs a test on itself. its in the manual somewhere. nothing to be alarmed about. noises from underneath the front can echo out the back.

 

I havent really looked into so maybe it is coming from the front
