TRD beadlocks and 285/75/16

    For some reason I can't search on my phone so I hope someone can help me out or send me a link.Im going to be running 285/75/16 bfg km2's with the TRD bronze beadlocks.The backspacing is only 4.75. Is that enough to clear the upper a arm and coils or will I still need to run a wheel spacer to keep from rubbing them? I have a 3 inch lift and I know i'll have to do some trimming.Thanks

    Even with spacers you will still need to trim.

    It should because everyone says to get at least a 4.5" backspacing.:cool:

    Thanks for the help.Trimming isn't my concern,everyone says 4.5 backspacing is the magic number but with 4.75 b.s. my wheels will be sitting closer to the arms and coils by a quarter inch.

    I think it's AT MOST 4.5...Much more than that and there isn't space between the rim/wheel and the suspension components. If you go less the tire moves farther out of the wheel (based on the offset...)

    i have method double standards with 4.75 backspacing on 285/70/17 no rubbing on the upper control arms or anything and no cab mount chop just some basic trimming on the plastics

    No cab mount chop and no trimming. I wheeled quite a few places and never rubbed, not once. I think part of the key is the alignment. You need plenty of caster.

    Maybe it's just the angle or shadowing but on the second pic it looks as if the weld is a bit separated from the tube on your UCA?

    It's a shadow. I have not had any issues with the LR UCA's yet on either of the 2 vehicles I've installed them on.

    I just installed my 285/75 and I have no running issues street driving. As for off road I got it to be at different angles and positions the front does not rub at all, but the rear had very little rub toward the front but hardly noting. Can be trimmed to not be noticeable

    Just got my second set of these wheels and the new 285 75 r16 bfg's ta ko2's, 3". Leveling kit, no spacers and it does not rub a single bit, went wheeling and no rubbing. I'm so happy with the set up!
