I've had one for a little over a year. I love it! The Fumoto and the drain around the filter makes oil changes so easy...and super clean...no more spills or hot oil on your hands.

Nope. It "locks" in place shut. To open you have to pull the lever forward and then slide it down. I am at 45K miles and have had it for 40K of those with no issues.

I installed mine recently too. But BEWARE, fumoto warns you in the FAQ section to install a 5/8 spring clip (see their FAQ section for a pic) if you do any offroading. One person over on TN already had theirs open when out hunting because some underbrush caught it (and they didn't heed the warning). I had a hard time finding the narrow spring clip, so I used a zip tie in the short term. It's a safe way to prevent even road debris from catching it. You do have to push and twist it, but weird things do happen sometimes.

    None yet! It's new!
I've used these for nearly 20 years on every vehicle I've owned - Porsches, Nissans, an MG, a couple of other vehicles, my last Tacoma, my present Tacoma and my present FJ Cruiser the wife drives. They work GREAT. No leaks, no problems and easy oil changes.

I've used them on the last four vehicles I've owned with no issue whatsoever. BTW I have a free 5/8 clip if someone needs it for fear of the valve opening. Any takers?

It seems like a really cool idea, but I'm having trouble convincing myself that its worth it. I mean, Its really not that hard to undo the drain plug as-is, lol.
