I have a set of the 1st gen projector headlights, and have an HID plug and play kit from VVME coming in this week...I have had issues with my headlights fogging up inside of the unit after car washes and sometimes rain storms and am figuring there is a bad seal around the light housing...i was thinking that while i'm putting in the HID kit, i might as well fix the fogging issue as well....

has anyone taken apart these projector headlights to reseal them before? would i follow the same steps as the black headlight mod with heating them up in the oven, pry them apart, then skip to the end, put some black silicone or something for a new seal then clam them back together for curing?

    if that made sense?

here's a pic of the headlights...

    crap bolted and welded together....
I have those as well since like 2008 and not fogging, but i wouldnt bake them like in the BHLM. Just run a bead on the outside all the way around and that should be a fix.

    I'd just do this.

If you do bake them and pry them apart, do not put silicon in the groove when you put them back together. I believe the stuff is called window weld, it's a black or gray strip that becomes plyable when heated. You put that in the groove, throw the housing in the oven then clamshell them back together. The secondary measure would be to put silicon around the outside. In your case that bead of silicon would most likely be all that you need to keep the water out.
