I just got my 4th door dent(ding) in one year time. I always go out of my way to park alone but they seem to find me. Are our trucks more prone to dents or is it just me? Is it the way the doors are shaped? I was going to get OEM boards but dont think it will really help much.. PDR guy is gonna love me.

6 years... I have zero dings. I have OEM running boards. I am also very cautious where I park. It used to drive my wife crazy, but she is used to it now.

Not a single door ding yet? I don't go out of my way either. I guess I'll give it some time. It's only been a few months...and 6 years now. Only dent so far is a little ding on the tailgate that can only be seen at the right angle. Now scratches...well that's another story, and it doesn't help when the forest roads are so overgrown that they're only a couple of feet wide between the bushes. I cringe listening to it screech as I pass through them. And yet people still think I have a brand new truck. LOL

I have N-Fab step bars on mine and they do a good job of stopping cars that sit lower from dinging my doors but I don't think they would stop another truck from dinging shit up.

That it so infuriating when you take precautions as to where you park and some a-hole still does that. Some people have no respect for personal property.

My issue is on the jobsites when parking is limited and they cramp all of us in so we fit.

I use to have a weekend show car, and door dings killed me. I got tired of worrying about door dings and bottoming out over speed bumps, so I bought a truck to treat it like a truck.

the running boards are plenty to keep anyone from hitting your car with their doors. If its a bigger truck or something, nothing will stop it. GEt some running boards and be done with it.

I put some moulding along the bottom of the crease in the side as well, but I wasn't planning on getting running boards till my 6 year old kept falling out and having trouble climbing up.
