Mine's just in the little cubby under the access cab seats.
Why I need to "mount" it?

Can you get to those seat mounted lights with the door closed?

depending on what kind of flashlight you want, you can get a much brighter and much smaller flashlight that would easily fit in your center console or glovebox with room to spare.
i love my maglights and i have a few but thinking about it i don't know why they are still so popular when you look at all the new led technology out there. i'm rambling on a tangent about why maglights aren't brighter than they are for their sizes. the 2 AA should have the brightness and beam of the 3 D cell. and the 3 D cell should blind the crap out of somebody

Mine is over 100 lumens... Maglites were great 15 years ago but now it is the most mediocre light available.

LOL Mine is in my center console and another in the glove box. Neither is "mounted" I guess I have plenty of room and don;t need to mount things out of the way,

I have a few led mag lites. You're right, they are pretty darn dim for the size. I have a few Streamlights of various sizes, even the small AA sizes kick the crap out of the fullsize mag lites as far as output.

The reason I still have a 2D mag led in my truck in addition to whatever streamlight I happen to have on me is that I know it will run for 24 hours straight (tested it), I know they are next to impossible to destroy, and it can double as a hammer if needed.

It's all about price IMO. $30 for a Mag-Lite that puts out decent enough power for most and doubles as a protection device....

I actually keep a couple LED head band lights in the jack compartment, The best light one can have . I don't expect tot be getting into sword play with a maglight and a perp. We can keep loaded weapons inn our vehicles within reach...No need fo a MagClub Plus the samaller lamps put put far more light.
