I went with a 6000k kit from ddmtuning.com. I got the high low kit and love it. I have some pics in my profile. $55.00 shipped.

DDM kits are plug and play and have lifetime warranty. I have a set on my quad and have never had problems.

1. None of them are reliable.

2. All of them are illegal.

I must have seen a half dozen guys come back for warranty claims on made in China HID kits at the shop that worked on my audio install. Every couple days it was a new one. The slimline ballsts are better but the bulbs still vary and I even saw a guy whos ignitor went out in 2 weeks. All Chineese junk IMO.

Also, I write a ticket for illegal HIDs every day now... like shooting fish in a barrel.

Lol. My DDM kit on my quad has been through mud, sand, water, dirt and it gets the hell vibrated out of it everyday. Also don't forget the hard landings it takes. 2 years and no problems. Reliability is not an issue with DDM. Usually the cause is installer error.

Good for you giving tickets. Have you gotten one for speeding in heavy rain?

Personally i wouldnt waste your time with any of these bullshit hid kits! If the price on them is cheap, it probably means the product is cheap! I was ignorant at one point too about things like this but the best way to learn something is through personal experience.

I bought some 6000ks from tophidkits.com and had them for about 2 months before this happened . . . .

Basically the connections burned up at a few different points. I emailed them, they sent me a new set for free and they lasted about 2 months before doing the same thing!

So then after being very pissed off about it I decided it was worth spending $200 on some good ones so i bought the Phillips 6000k Bi-Xenon kit and i have not been disappointed! As soon as i pulled them out of the box i could tell how much better quality they were, from the connections to the wire to the bulbs themselves. Much better product and i have now had them for over a year and have no problems out of them!

Just remember that there are some things that price does matter on and electronics are usually one of those things!

Yeah they're Illegal, hmmm wonder why cars come with HID's?

LOL @ Giving them tickets, and people wonder why some people hate cops...

It's one thing if they're completely blue or they are not aimed correctly.

Man mine have not been reliable at all,

Filled my fog lights up with water with my HID's running and they never missed a beat, took them off road and beat hard on them and they never quit. POS's

It is illegal to put a HID bulb in an enclosure that was not designed for HID, (our Tacomas halogen enclosure was not designed for HID). HID's coming from factory are in projectors that have optics to prevent that euro-tuner-trash spraying light everywhere look.

thanks for the pics. i still dont know what to do. my buddy installed a $30 kit he found on ebay three months ago and hasnt had a problem but im not too comfortable putting something that cheap in my baby. everything i have found about ddm makes me thinnk they are pretty legit so im probably going to go with their product.

now the question is, which bulb do i need because the sylvania webite says 9003/hb2 but when i look for those, the options given are h4/9003 or h4/hb2?

DDM kits are solid , I've had them on my truck for almost 2 years and on all my friends cars with no major issues other than having to aim the lights down . Only one guy had a ballast go bad but DDM replaced it right away .

To the guy giving tickets , karma is a bitch

i can vouch for intensehid.com i bought my ballast from them 3 years ago and its a top quality product! i actually had the kit on my old car all i had to do was buy new bulbs and another kit for the fogs for the tacoma. (you're gonna need headlights:bixenon h4/9003 fogs:h10)

i got the 8k and my lights are smoked so they're still way bright but not as bright as they could be. i had to adjust my lights to shoot lower though cuz they ARE blinding! the smoked headlights actually help out alot. i haven't had any problems with the law, but i'm in vegas.

just the headlights:

hope this helps you
