I just picked up my new DCSB TRD Sport last night. The truck had 5 miles on it at delivery and while driving it home last night, I noticed between 35 mph and above a lot of ticking from the motor. Read the forum and found out that was normal for the most part. I just wanted to see if any one else experienced this with the 2011. Other than that, I love the truck and couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Welcome. I haven't observed anything on mine...picked it up three weeks ago, and have ~1500 miles on it.

Just wait until you're idling beside a building, THEN you'll really hear it tick! :)

I like to think of it as my drivetrain talking to me... "Good morning Fil" my drivetrain is saying! "Let's go for a rip!"

    hahahaha

That's a relief, I was very concerned about it. As long as the motor is built to last, that's all that matters to me!

Mine got quiet for the first time ever. First tank with 91 octane. Felt peppier too. Maybe it's just a placebo effect?

It's your VVTI. After a few oil changes it lessens. Also if it's real cold you can really hear it but as the engine warms up it goes away.
