big problem???

i cant screw on the bolt all the way in for my passenger seat ,seatbelt. I tried but it just get tighter and and tighter. it goes about half way before it stops. i tired switching bolts with the driver side and that didnt work either. I looke inside and nothing blocking it. Any help???

 

Might help to pull the seat out and get a better look. its pretty easy to remove the seats too

 

so you forced it at some point?

Neither bolt works in that hole but both fit in the other? Yea, try to find the right thread chaser and fix that up. Maybe try a small wire brush (bottle brush type) to make sure there's not a bit of slag or something jamming the hole. I'd think you could force it in there if it were just a matter of gummed up threads, steel doesn't gall that bad usually.

 

cross threaded bolt?

 

could be cross threaded could be messed up threads, either way you should see damage to the threads of the bolt, buy a tap and chase the threads and buy a new bolt
