    Hey guys,

Had a fun last weekend at pismo beach dunes with fellow TW members. Pushed the truck and it drove great!

Only damage I got was a slightly bent radiator (oh and stock skid looks like an art piece :p). Seems I must have bottomed out and a mass of sand made its way between the skid plate and the bumper pushing the middle of the radiator in.

There are no leaks, truck runs fine. The problem was that since it bent, my fan shroud could not sit flush, and when riding around off road it would pop off and cause my fan to rub on the bottom of the shroud, and my engine would freak out I'm assuming due to the resistance. Fan fin ends are slightly "sanded" and can feel bottom of the shroud is scrapped a bit. I got it back on, but it is under constant "strain" to stay with the radiator since the top is the only part held in with screws, the bottom is held in by clips on both sides that wrap around the radiator. It is from these clips, mainly the drivers side, that pops off...

Seems I gotta keep it in place somehow, but should I replace the radiator? Or just figure out how to keep the shroud in place? (Zip tie time?) I only got 10,500 miles on it. :D

Here are some pics...you can see what probably caused it ;) And also how the shroud has a gap between it and the radiator...

    Thanks...

Exactly! haha...yeah 5100s probably saved my truck from destruction...many mods to do in future ofcourse....I hope I do make it to a year tho ;)

Difference from me and that "bro" is that I didn't ride it like a donkey, and sand is more forgiving :D Inspected the rest of the truck and all good, just what I described. Incase you wanna see the vid...

When I did that the radiator bent all the way into the fan  but at least I had a sweet set of DR coils. Then I built my first skid plate :D Let me know when your ready for yours

EDIT: bend the radiator back a little and you'll be fine

why do you care so much??? if his truck breaks, what is it to you???? it's his truck and he likes having fun with it. obviously he wouldn't care that much if something went wrong with it or else he wouldn't be jumping it..

This is true my friend....can't ever get a question on topic haha...but yeah in the long run I'll def change it out

Well if you had any idea of what happened, I wasn't planning on going so high, but the 4.0L sure has some power, and the truck is made great so it withstood the one jump, which was awesome but ofcourse I would not repeat without upgrading in future. Hundreds of feet hm? Thanks for the sarcasm, atleast you'll sleep better tonight feeling better about yourself I guess....

    Old enough to fly...

Damn, yeah I figure you have fun and end up breaking shit, upgrading and moving on (This is a truck forum right?) Yeah I saw you catch sick air on sat man!...yeah given my skid is gonna be a pretzel at some point, I'll def hit you up ;) lol
