    stock, for now

Working in the automotive field, these TPMS systems are nothing but a headache:rolleyes:. People dont want to hear that there 2006/7 model vehicle had sensors in the wheels, and batterys cant last forever. You need to go back to the dealer and have them fix it..Then I get the old "wasnt like that when I brought it in"

These stupid things are so fragile, when checking air pressure I've broken a handful of these, or they come in broken for the same thing..People dont want to believe that these things cost $100+ per sensor. Some of the Ford ones, can go for $2-400 also:eek:

Know how I know you're retarded? Because you need a light to tell you you have a flat tire.

    Ha ha true.
Had plenty of flat tires through out the years never needed any other sensor then my bottom to know that truck has difference in tire pressure. Its really hard to miss that.

its an important saftey feature! suppose your driving 70 mph and you get a slow leak then as the tire air pressure gets so low the bead breaks and you have a blow-out and your wreck!
Just make sure the Tire Change Technican at your local hillbilly tire shop doesn't cut off your valve stem

I'm puzzled with this recall, when I heard about it this morning I thought it would fix the issues with my TPMS system but now I don't know.

I thought the system was defective but now I see they say it's because the system wasn't re-calibrated after accessory wheels were installed. My problem is that I installed my 2007 FJ Cruiser wheels on my Taco for the wintern, they don't have TPMS sensors so I was expecting the light to be on all the time but it's not, it comes on whenever it feels like it.

So I guess I shouldn't expect that recall (assuming it's done in Canada as well) to fix my problem right ?

BTW, I agree with the post above, it is an important safety feature when you're driving but it's also something that should be able to rely on. People who don't check their tire pressure regularly aren't necessarily stupid, they're just people who expect a technology they had no choice to buy will work as it's supposed to.

Unfortunately it's federally mandated due to a knee jerk reaction involving the Ford Explorer/Firestone debacle.

The TRD OR has a button to recalibrate the damn things anyway for when you want to air down and not have the light come on.

Don't the other models have something similar ?

My TPMS has been acting crazy over the past month... coming on when nothing is wrong.

I did check all 5 tires and aired them all up... but the warning refused to reset???? Related
