Just finished my 30,000 mile service on my 2007, 2.7 litre, 4X4, std cab. I installed all Red Line synthetic fluids (75W90 gear oil in diffs and transfer case) and MTL in the transmission. If anyone has a real notchy transmission, especially going into second gear, I highly recommend this fluid. In my previous life as a Miata driver this fluid was well known to improve the notchy Miata gearbox and it has done wonders for my Tacoma.

The improvement was very noticeable and immediate after the fluid change. I've only owned this truck since last Nov and only put 1,800 miles on it, but during all of that time the trans was a real PITA, especially when cold.

So if you'd like to make your trans a bit easier shifting try the Red Line MTL. You can google it to find out all about it

I used Redline MTL in my 52 MG TD tranny & what a great difference!! Shifts really smooth for a 59 yr old car. I will put it in my 08 Prerunner when my warranty expires.

My 2010 5 speed Tacoma with 60K had notchy shifting going from 1st to 2nd and some to 3rd. Red Line PT90 synthetic made a very noticeable
difference. Also Klasse All-In-One polish available from Auto Geek is by far the best wax/polish I have ever used. Lasts a LONG time

I used MT-90 in my 6 speed, and I noticed a big difference. Is MT-90 the same thing as MTL?

I apologize, it was Red Line MT-90 oil I used and not PT-90

    No, MTL is 75W80 GL3/GL4 and MT-90 is 75W90 GL4.
