Need help deciding what nerf bar to get

I'm looking at getting a set of Westin Nerf Bars.. Can't decide between the Platinum Oval bars or E-Series Bars.. Truck is all White and am looking at getting black bars.. trying to keep it cheaper, but want good quality.. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanx.

 

I've had the Platinum Chrome on since Aug 2005 and don't have a single complaint. They hold up just fine in the snow and deflect a lot of rocks away from the doors if you've removed your front mud flaps.

 

I wanted the Westin bars to begin with, but after looking at the Avid bars I think I want to go with them. Not much price difference. I know some people with the Westin bars and they really seem to like them. Between the two you mentioned, I really can't tell much of a difference on their web site.

Avid Sliders have a lot of benefits. They sit higher giving the truck, visually and functionally, more ground clearance and still provide a step up or a place to bang the crap off your boots before getting in the truck.

 

N-fabs. Westin nerf bars tends to get easily dinged.

 

Can't comment on the difference between the manufacturer's, I actually have 4" black oval Aries nerf bars on my 08 DC. Have had them on the truck since January of 2010 and they look as good as new so far.

The only thing I would do differently is NOT get 4". I would buy the 3" next time. IMO the 4" oval is a bit too large for the Tacoma. They look a bit out of proportion to me.

 

I find that observation/opinion interesting because the OEM tube steps are 5" diameter.
I want to buy some tube steps, but I would want the ones that hang the lowest, and stick out the furthest, to prevent parking lot door dings.

 

I found the Avid Step rails to be the best price, even though they come unpainted.. But i'm leaning towards the smittybilt nerf step...

I have a superwhite and I bought the black e-series westin nerf bars. It looks great and I love the functionality of it (protection, look, step, place to knock dirt off). I recommend them...

They look like mine did after 18 months. Trashtin. All the bolt on truck store crap is just that.
Cheap, throw-away. Swear its all powder coated right over rust.

Good move, DJTOY. They are built by N-Fab, are the same as N-Fab's, but you save $100.

 

Wow. After seeing those Westin's, I might pay the extra for some Stainless Steel versions...

 

Wow! Glad I went with the Chrome ones 6 years ago. Mine still look brand new. They do come with a lifetime warranty, so I'm curious if you brought it to Westin's attention.

 

Black Westin's on my F250 are almost the same.I went with stainless Go Rhino's on the Taco.All steel nerf bars are gonna rust like that if you live where there's winter weather.
